That's the number of Deviations I have yet to go through. D: I've been putting it off for a month or two now, and I'm slowly going through them. My laptop has been acting up recently and has finally decided it doesn't like to load DeviantArt with the speed that it use to. It keeps lagging up as I'm typing this, which it doesn't do with any other site. I need to see if something's wrong with the internet connection. I'm hoping it's the school's wireless internet and not anything wrong with my precious baby. I wish the school would make the wireless internet more secure instead of just leaving it open to everyone. >.<

But I will persevere!

Remember the reason for the season.

So yesterday I 'd this Daily Deviation because I love dragonflys: [link] Totally awesome in every way with the water droplets and colors.

And today, I was overjoyed to see another dragonfly in the DDs. But then I realized something about this one: [link] I've seen it before.

THEY'RE THE SAME FREAKIN PHOTOS! WHAT THE HELL?! Seriously! What the hell is wrong with the DDs? Are we lacking so much creativity that we have to post the same (gorgeous) picture on consectutive days?! I'd rather see Naruto fanart then the same picture, just for variety! Isn't that what the DDs are for? To showcase UNIQUE works?

Only after I read the comments do I realize that it is THE SAME DRAGONFLY! BUT! The two pictures were taken by one person and his brother. Two different people. On the same day. At the same time. From the same angle. From the same dragonfly. From the same DAMN CAMERA!

God damn DA, what are you thinking? It's a great photo, but aren't you promoting art theft? I get that it's two seperate photos, but geez, if I didn't read the comments (like 90% of DA doesn't read comments), then how would I know that mescamesh and struller were brothers?

If the same picture is taken 30 seconds after the first, but both are promoted as individuals, are they really works of art?

On a lighter note, DA needs to support the [b] and [/b] types of html. It would've made this whole post more fun to read and write.

Whenever I get hooked onto something, I always go to DeviantArt and search for pictures of it, resulting in twenty some favorites all on the same subject.

Does it feel like cheating to you? Like, you're purposly finding this art and not just happening upon it. It takes some of the joy out of finding a random picture that you really like and makes me feel like I'm not doing other artists a favor.

Then again, the other artists aren't getting any favors when the same five people hog the entire Popular area on the front page. Then what is the point of having a +Favorite when 8,000 other people +Favorite it just for being on the front or from their favorite artist?

Seriously, don't favorite something just because Bleedman made a loose sketch of his big toe, or because JustFlyAKite sneezed and made it into a t-shirt. Favorite it because you LIKE it, not because you like the artist.

Yes, I appreciate those two guys artwork, but it gets annoying seeing the same things over and over again. Minimandy is always nice, but I don't want to see her EVERY SINGLE DAY! Same with Bunneh, Naruto, anything with Organization XIII, snapesnoggers stuff, and those repetitive 'native american' abstract line drawings of wolves*.

Please, DA, get some variety.




*I have nothing against these people, I am only using them as examples. They all have lovely artwork and some not so lovely artwork. Again, I don't hate these people. I love JFAK silly antics.

Wow, coming up on 500 pageviews!

It might not seem like a lot compared to, say, people like Bleedman or Hail~Nekoyasha, but it's quite a lot for an artist like myself that isn't appearing on the Popular List every other day.

Guess I'll do something special when 500 hits, even though most of those hits are probably from me.
